eclipsepullmanPullman Fleet Services, the maintenance and repair arm of distribution giant Wincanton, has invested in diagnostic equipment from Eclipse Automotive Technology for its national network of 32 service centres.

Pullman offers a full spectrum of fleet management services, across all marques and fleet sizes, including for some of the UK’s largest commercial vehicle fleets.  Facilities offered include cost management, warranty control and service planning, in addition to a 24/7 roadside assistance support service with a 98 per cent first time fix rate.

The company chose the Eclipse Testpad Extreme featuring Jaltest software in order to help swiftly identify solutions to problems, and prevent extended vehicle downtime for its customers. The system, which provides a standard platform across Pullman’s operations, will enable the workshops to diagnose and rectify faults, helping them to improve customer service.

“We had a rigorous tender process for all the potential suppliers and Eclipse ticked all the boxes,” said Pullman operations director Maurizio Romano.

“Our main objectives were to optimise system coverage, functionality, implementation and support to ensure ‘one best way’ within our network of service centres, and we are delighted with the Eclipse offering. Better still, they are a proactive team to work with.

“We have found the diagnostic package from Eclipse gets to the root of the problem very quickly and easily, cutting down VOR times significantly and improving repair times.”

The system went live last year following training across all locations, and previous legacy systems have been replaced by the Eclipse Testpad.
