Gloucestershire-based safety equipment specialist Sentinel Systems Ltd has won a national prize for product innovation for its Bike Hotspot System.

The system was developed to prevent accidents involving cyclists and commercial vehicles. If a cyclist gets too close to an HGV, an external warning is given: “Too close… Keep clear.” Meanwhile, a buzzer in the cab alerts the driver to the hazard.

Added Paulson: “We are delighted to win two awards in the space of a week. Our company has been developing safety systems for commercial vehicles for over 26 years. It is great to be recognised for our work.”
