brigade-eyeballBrigade Electronics has launched its new Eyeball camera, which it says has the widest viewing angle in its entire range, and offers the most flexible fitting positions.

The VBV-3XXC series cameras are said to be ideal for side, front, rear and internal applications with a viewing angle of 102 X 78 X 145° (HxVxD).

This enables the driver to see more of the danger zones than ever before, says Brigade, thereby protecting vulnerable road users from collisions and preventing vehicle damage.

Previously, mounting positions required for camera installation were restricted, but the new Eyeball camera has an adjustable ball and socket lens which enables fitment in virtually any position on vehicles or mobile plant. The lens can be rotated ± 180° for adjustment to achieve the optimal view of blind spots.

Brigade has streamlined its camera portfolio so that the VBV-3XXC series now replaces the BE-30X and VBV-0X0 ranges. Available in mirror image or normal view, the Eyeball camera is compatible with all of Brigade’s monitors, so there is no need to buy additional adapter cables.

The VBV-3XXC is a durable camera with comprehensive certification to industry standards including CE, E mark, water and dust resistance to IP69K and corrosion resistance to ISO0227 (salt spray).

The Eyeball camera has five LEDs for low light performance, reducing the risk of collision in poor visibility conditions. An integrated microphone allows audio capability, for instance allowing the driver to hear people in addition to seeing them.
