bullwellBullwell Trailer Solutions, which specialises in mobile trailer repair and maintenance, has revealed plans for expansion, which it says will create new jobs across the Midlands.

Due to increasing demand for mobile services amongst HGV fleet operators, the Lichfield-based firm – which is part of the Ryder Ltd group of companies – has launched a recruitment drive for 25 mobile HGV engineers in the Midlands, London, Glasgow, Bristol, Basingstoke and the north of England.

Since the beginning of 2015, Bullwell has already increased its workforce by 20 per cent, and is planning to take on more recruits under its trainee scheme later in the year.

As a result of this increase in staff, Bullwell has invested £50,000 into its offices at its Lichfield headquarters on Burton Road and has spent £750,000 on improving and updating its fleet of 60 vans.

Gary Bulley, managing director at Bullwell Trailer Solutions (pictured), said: “More fleet operators are now seeing the benefits of mobile solutions, from the financial advantages to greener credentials. As such, demand for our services continues to grow and we are now on the hunt for more talented engineers to join our growing team.”

Historically, fleet operators had to travel to their nearest workshop for their repair and maintenance needs, says Bullwell.. However, under the company’s business model, its more environmentally friendly vans travel to the HGVs instead.

Gary said: “Thanks to its location at the hub of the UK’s transport system, Lichfield has been a great base for us to grow our business over the past decade and our recent investment into our headquarters reinforces our commitment to the location.”

The company now has 60 engineers located across the UK, from Glasgow to Exeter, and maintains in excess of 5,000 trailers.

Gary continued: “At Bullwell we pride ourselves on bringing quality to the trailer industry. Each of our engineers goes through a strict training programme – which has been designed specifically to suit the needs of the company – when they are appointed.

“In this way we ensure each engineer is trained to our high standards and is capable of repairing and maintaining trailers to the levels outlined by the manufacturers. It also means that the engineers themselves can be proud of working to their best ability and delivering quality results for our clients.”

In addition to benefiting from Bullwell’s training programme, each engineer will be entitled to a fully expensed company vehicle, as well as the chance to earn as much as £55,000 per year.
