Continental and Schmitz Cargobull extend trailer tyre partnership

Continental and Schmitz Cargobull have reported that they are strengthening their longstanding collaboration by introducing the Conti Hybrid HT3 as a standard tyre in the trailer manufacturer’s product portfolio. The Conti Hybrid HT3 is a specially developed trailer tyre for use both on regional roads and motorways, and was launched in the spring of this year.

Continental and Schmitz Cargobull have been linked by a partnership lasting more than 30 years, during which Continental has become one of the trailer specialist’s major suppliers.

Peter Matzke, head of OE truck tyres at Continental, said: “We are delighted that Schmitz Cargobull has included our Conti Hybrid HT3 in its original equipment manufacturing portfolio, further strengthening our longstanding collaboration.”

A newly developed tread compound has increased the mileage of the Conti Hybrid HT3 compared with its predecessor, says Continental, and has also improved wet grip performance. In addition, the Conti Hybrid HT3 is said to demonstrate excellent fuel efficiency thanks to optimised rolling resistance.
