Driver CPC card issuing changes

driverwithcardThe Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) has announced changes to how Driver CPC cards are issued.

For drivers who complete their periodic training more than 12 months before their deadline, cards will no longer be immediately sent out, the agency says.

“You’ll get your new Driver CPC card straight away if you complete your training in the 12 months before your deadline,” said DVSA.

“If you complete your training more than a year early, you won’t get your new Driver CPC card until nearer the time your current card expires.”

An online service allows drivers to check when they will receive their next card.

DVSA also warns that drivers must notify the Driver & Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) if they change address, since £25 will be payable if the Driver CPC card is sent to an old address due to a driver’s failure to update their licence.
