slickerrecyclingCommercial vehicle workshop waste and oil recycling specialist Hydrodec UK, also known as OSS Group, has been rebranded as Slicker Recycling, following its acquisition by entrepreneur Andrew Black, founder of the betting exchange platform Betfair.

Under the new Slicker Recycling brand, the company says it has already started to introduce new initiatives aimed at improving its services to the commercial vehicle sector.

“Our new approach is to give our clients a better deal by introducing efficiencies across the complete range of services that we offer,” said managing director Mark Olpin.

“For example we are reviewing collection frequencies to avoid picking up low waste volumes from vehicle servicing centres, thus cutting the number of visits required and saving on collection charges. We have also introduced financial benefits to encourage good recycling.

“Where large quantities of waste oil are involved we are looking at rebates based on global oil prices. We are also not just about oil and will be moving more towards a wider total waste management offering.”

Olpin continued: “As we are now a private company this revised status is helping us adapt faster and better in the rapidly changing workshop waste marketplace.

“Currently we will continue to recycle the waste oil we collect into a processed fuel oil but our plans are to build a UK base oil re-refinery to maintain the best solution for long term waste oil recycling.

“Andrew Black has a reputation for making things happen. His involvement and his interest in environmental matters, especially recycling, have already been of considerable benefit to us. We are re-branding to help re-enforce our new identity and our new approach to business.”
