eCanter comes to Europe

Daimler subsidiary Fuso has begun European production of its all-electric Fuso eCanter 7.5-tonner at its assembly plant in Tramagal, Portugal. The truck has been manufactured at Fuso’s factory in Kawasaki, Japan since May.

Currently, small numbers of the eCanter are being built in Europe on the same production line as the diesel versions.

The eCanter has a range of 100 kilometres and a load capacity of two to three tons, depending on body and usage. The vehicle’s electric powertrain contains six high-voltage lithium-ion battery packs of 420 V and 13.8 kWh each. These are made by Daimler’s Accumotive factory in Kamenz, Germany.
