Safety techology provider Parksafe Automotive is among those offering a range of solutions to help eliminate blind spots and allow fleets to meet the Direct Vision Standard (DVS) specifications in time for March.

The company has echoed recent reports about a loophole which means that the scheme is already legally in effect as of 26 October, despite enforcement being postponed until 1 March due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“In the event of an incident those who do not comply with DVS could be faced with civil damages and insurers may refuse to pay out,” said Parksafe.

“If you’re operating in greater London, despite the delay, we would highly recommend upgrading your vehicles now, in order to avoid future fines.”

The company has produced a short video explaining various requirements of the ‘Safe System’ components that will be required to allow zero-star vehicles to obtain a permit. This can be viewed at: youtu.be/t9I1CdzCd_g

“Parksafe can supply and fit our ‘Safe System’ kits to eliminate blind spots, and get your fleet up to Direct Vision Standard in time,” said the firm.

“We can conduct a phased installation, meaning minimal disruption to your fleet and less time spent off-road.”
