Astra ClearView offers direct vision benefits
Astra Vehicle Technologies reports that its ClearView additional low level windows are proving very popular on Mercedes-Benz trucks for which it has obtained Direct Vision Standard (DVS) approval, offering affected vehicles at least one star benefit under the scheme thanks to drivers’ improved direct vision from the cab.
Following on from the successful launch of the DVS-approved ClearView product for Mercedes-Benz, Astra says that it is now working closely with engineers at two more OEMs to design a ClearView product to suit their new range of vehicles.
“This collaboration optimises the viewing angle and maximises the amount of vision available to the driver thus meeting the DVS requirements for an additional star rating,” said the firm.
All Astra ClearView products maintain the operational functionality of the original passenger door window, Astra explains, but now also incorporate special features for use in high dust environments as standard.
Astra’s ClearView product is available for all brands and most models including new releases from MAN, Renault and Iveco.
