Krone’s all-in-one telematics platform

The Krone Commercial Vehicle Group offers its own, manufacturer-independent telematics platform, to provide carriers with online access to information about the location, condition or temperature of their transport units at any time.

With additional sensors, data recording around the trailer can be expanded by additional applications. Various isolated systems are combined and provided as an all-in-one solution.

“Until now, two systems were necessary to query tractor unit and trailer data,” said Krone.

“Now the dispatcher will receive all information about the vehicle at a glance thanks to the newly created interfaces. This not only makes the day-to-day work of the dispatcher easier, it also saves time and money.

“The new Krone Telematics allows for the automatic creation of reports. In doing so, previously defined reports are processed automatically by the Krone Telematics System and sent to a previously identified user at desired times. With the help of these reports, the user receives all relevant information in real time and can always keep an eye on his fleet.”

With the ‘Position’ telematics function, information about the location of transport units can be received in real time via GPS, says Krone, and efficient dispatching can be proactively scheduled.

Special door sensors monitor the doors and shutters. Any type of interference can be ruled out, says Krone, because the monitoring of goods is flawlessly documented.

Temperature reports, default alarms and refrigeration data are continuously monitored, transmitted and documented for 18 months.

“Thanks to the certified temperature sensor used by Krone Telematics, a separate temperature recorder is no longer required on the refrigerated vehicle,” said the company.

“Krone takes care of the duties of the refrigeration unit recorder. The temperature data is compiled in individually selectable time slots. The certified temperature profiles of the cold chain will therefore be summarised directly as a document, and be provided to the customer before the goods are received.”

With the technology package, operators are always informed about the condition of specific trailers, from EBS data readout to coupling sensor. Operators are therefore informed about upcoming maintenance and can plan accordingly.

With the coupling status feature, managers can view the current coupling status and can track precisely which vehicles in their fleet are currently attached to a tractor unit.

A further available feature is Krone Telematics Smart Collect, which allows the loader, driver and dispatcher to communicate via WLAN to make processes easier. Important documents such as transport documents, certificates, maintenance documents and load temperature information are available in digital form.

Meanwhile, Krone Telematics Smart Scan is an intelligent load compartment monitoring system, designed to help fleets optimise load capacities. Dispatchers can receive rapid and reliable information on precisely how much capacity is left in the vehicle.
