Around 150 exhibitors are set to attend the Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre in Hampshire for the forthcoming inaugural ITT Hub (Innovation & Technology in Transport).

A major emphasis at ITT Hub, to be held from 30 June to 1 July, will be the move towards achieving net zero carbon emissions, as the event aims to unite representatives from across the supply chain to explore how this shift will occur.

The line-up of exhibitors is set to include DAF Trucks, Renault Trucks, Iveco, Arrival and Volta Trucks, as well as a variety of bus, coach and van brands including Ford, BYD, Dawson Bus & Coach, Wrightbus, ADL, Fiat Professional, Iveco, Switch Mobility, Mercedes-Benz Bus & Coach, Wrightbus, Caetano Bus, EVM, Islebus, Marshall Truck & Van, and Pelican Bus & Coach.

Last week, an ITT Hub Exhibitor Preview Day was held in Farnborough (pictured), which included site tours and briefings about plans for the summer event, including the protocols and systems in place for social distancing for visitors and exhibitors.

An hour-long business seminar for all attendees on the topic of decarbonisation was the highlight of the preview day, later broadcast as a webinar.

Chaired by Leon Daniels OBE, the panel discussed how suppliers, fleet operators and other stakeholders could collaborate to drive clean air solutions – with panellists including David Wells, chief executive of Logistics UK; Caroline Low, environment and future mobility director at the Department for Transport; and Victoria Whitehead, head of infrastructure and transport at Lloyds Banking Group.

ITT Hub 2021 will include the Future Logistics Conference, organised by Logistics UK, whose line-up of speakers will be led by British astronaut Major Tim Peake CMG, alongside 23 industry leaders exploring the issues set to challenge the transport and logistics sectors in the coming years.

These will include sessions led by representatives from the likes of Highways England, Renault Trucks UK & Ireland, National Grid, DHL Supply Chain, UPS, Volta Trucks, and the Advanced Propulsion Centre.

Topics on the agenda will include future vehicles and fuels, how to attract and retain talent in the sector, the power of data, and strategies for funding and creating effective business models.

Elizabeth de Jong, policy director at Logistics UK, said the conference would: “provide an invaluable opportunity to discover and debate the influences which will shape the logistics world of tomorrow, all at a safe, Covid-19 compliant venue.”

She continued: “With an industry-wide view and decades of expertise, Logistics UK is positioned perfectly to bring together some of the most respected, influential and innovative experts in the industry to map out the future of logistics; the conference promises to be an unmissable event.”

ITT Hub will also feature an outdoor vehicle display area and a series of ‘ride and drive’ experiences, to give attendees the opportunity to try out the latest vehicle technology.

Mark Griffin, CEO of ITT Hub organiser Binswood Media, said: “We are delighted to have secured a very prestigious line-up of exhibitors for ITT Hub, made up of companies large and small from across the commercial road transport industry.

“Many of our exhibitors have been looking forward to this event for more than two years and since Easter we’ve seen an uplift in confidence, with space selling quickly.

“There’s no question that ITT Hub is recognised as a strategically important opportunity for commercial road transport to explore how it can adapt and thrive as it meets net zero requirements. Importantly, our event is being welcomed as the chance for colleagues to meet for the first time in more than a year.”

Free car parking will be available onsite, and a free shuttle bus service from the railway station will also be provided. Visitors are advised to pre-register at the website.
