Slicker Recycling specialises in waste oil, workshop waste, interceptor/drainage maintenance and other waste management services.

The company says its large vehicle fleet and network of strategically located depots enable it to provide a prompt and reliable service nationwide.

From family-run businesses to large national organisations, Slicker tailors its waste management services to meet each customer’s needs,” said the company.

“Collections can be arranged on an on-demand basis or as part of an integrated scheduled service package. As standard practice, Slicker’s team will handle all the legal paperwork for their customers, ensuring they meet the latest environmental regulations.”

The firm added: “Slicker is at the forefront of sustainable hazardous waste management practices, helping reduce customers’ carbon footprint through their innovative base oil re-refinery.

“The waste oil collected is sent to their state-of-the-art facility where it is processed into a base oil product which is used to produce brand new lubricating oil. By recycling the used oil in this way, Slicker prevents it from being burnt as dirty fuel which releases significant harmful carbon emissions.

“Not only this, but the base oil produced from used oil is 30 per cent more efficient than base oil produced from crude, further cutting down carbon emissions.”

Slicker’s parent company, Greenbottle Re-refining, has recently announced the takeover of Ohio-based Hydrodec, a firm which collects and hydrotreats used transformer and naphthenic oils from its Canton facility in the north-east of the US state.

The acquisition sees UK-based Greenbottle increasing its global footprint and building its circular economy credentials after the 2020 opening of its £70 million base oil re-refinery in Denmark through a joint venture with German partner, Avista AG.

Slicker managing director Mark Olpin will be assisting Hydrodec with its business strategy moving forward.
