Greener wheel safety with Bio-Checkpoint range

Wheel safety expert Checkpoint has recently launched the Bio-Checkpoint range, incorporating fully biodegradable versions of its wheel nut indicator products.

The range launched in August last year following two years of laboratory development, testing and retesting.

Bio-Checkpoint is said to maintain the same premium day-to-day quality of the company’s existing recyclable product range, but now with the added benefit of being fully biodegradable.

Commenting on the company’s sustainable invention, CEO Mike Marczynski said, “With 200 tonnes of plastic sold each year alone by Checkpoint, we couldn’t sit back and watch, we had to do something about it.”

Whilst the Checkpoint product formula remains largely the same, the inclusion of a biodegradable additive during the manufacturing process allows Bio-Checkpoint products to operate as usual and retain their recyclable capability, but activate in the event of the product ending up in a biologically active landfill.

This has been tested and verified by ASTM D5511 for enhanced biodegradation in biologically active landfills.

The company estimated that from this year onwards, all Checkpoint products produced would be the newly innovated, biodegradable products, saving the planet from over 200 tonnes of plastic waste each year.
