Shell FuelSave Partner expands with telematics offering
Shell has announced the expansion of its Shell FuelSave Partner fuel management offering to include integrated fleet management functionality from telematics specialist Omnitracs Europe.
The system offers a single online management portal, FleetVisor, which provides a complete overview of fuel and fleet operations. In doing so, the service can help commercial road transport fleet operators identify opportunities for operational improvements and fuel savings, Shell says – as well as allowing them to optimise and structure communication with drivers, and to stay compliant with the EU Working Time and Driving Time Directives.
Functions include messaging and workflow, a remote tachograph download service, driver hours management, track and trace, vehicle navigation, trailer and reefer management and fuel management reporting. The latter highlights opportunities for operational improvements that could help generate fuel savings of up to 10 per cent through driver behaviour monitoring, analysis and coaching, Shell says. Meanwhile, fuel-related CO2 reductions can also be achieved through the analysis of vehicle fuel consumption and driver performance in real-time.
In addition, the system is integrated with the euroShell card, allowing it to also help fleet managers identify potential fraudulent activities by reconciling fuel card purchase data with actual fuel information from the tank. Non-euroShell card fuelling transactions can also be uploaded to the system, to ensure all fuelling events are accounted for.

The new integrated fuel and fleet management Shell FuelSave Partner service is available now in the UK. It is available both as a single complete solution and, for existing customers of Omnitracs’ OmniExpress, as an instant software upgrade.
