aide offers discount on fuel theft alarm
Vehicle equipment supplier aide automotive says it is offering discounts on its TankGuard fuel tank alarm during May and June, following strong customer feedback on the product.
With an RRP of £259 fitted, the fuel theft prevention alarm is available within this offer period at a fitted price starting from £169 (depending on location). To provide further security, the company says it will also fit its TP Anti Syph device for £40.
The siphon will stop any quick theft attempt via a pipe and pump, aide says; then, if another route like the sender unit is attempted, the alarm will sound, thereby offering a ‘belt and braces’ approach to fuel security.
The alarm will automatically arm after the ignition has been switched off for sixty seconds, and has a sophisticated sensor fitted externally in a discreet location on the outside of the fuel tank. If thieves attempt to remove the locked cap, prise out the sender unit or in any way attack the tank, then the Tank Guard alarm will be activated. This will result in a 114 decibel siren sounding, to drive the thieves away.
