CV Show: SDC to showcase Kinetic Energy Recovery trailer
Trailer manufacturer SDC will be debuting a new fuel-saving Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) Curtainsider at the NEC this year, which has been designed to maximise operational efficiency.
During braking, the motor becomes a generator, recovering kinetic energy that would otherwise be lost as heat and storing it in a bank of high-power ultra-capacitors. It is said to reduce fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions by up to 25 per cent.
Other units on show will include a 13.6 GRP Boxvan, a 10.79m Owen’s Urban trailer with Tridec bar rear steer and Dhollandia tuckaway taillift, a 4.6m tri-axle curtainsider (Hireco) and 4.7m tri-axle curtainsider (TIP Trailer Services) outside the NEC; and a new corporate hospitality trailer on the stand.
The CV Show 2016 will take place from 26-28 April at the NEC Birmingham. Visitors can register for their free tickets by clicking here.
