Prometeon unveils new Pirelli coach tyres

Prometeon Tyre Group UK has launched a new-generation Pirelli H:01 Coach tyre for regional and motorway routes.

The new FH:01 and TH:01 Coach lift performance standards in grip and traction, as well as mileage and fuel saving, says the company – thus offering higher safety, comfort and efficiency in passenger transport and reduction of CO2 emissions.

The aim of the new tyres is to satisfy the needs of operators in the sector while keeping pace with the evolution of vehicles (hybrid and electric), which must comply with the most stringent regulations in terms of CO2 emissions reduction and noise generation.

All the new generation tyres are marked 3PMSF and suitable for use in winter conditions.

The new line includes FH:01 Coach, a specialised tyre to equip steering and all-around axles. The introduction of new full-depth sipes in the FH:01 tread is said to yield an improvement in traction on snow of up to 20 per cent compared to the previous version.

TH:01 Coach is dedicated to equipping drive axles when additional traction and grip performance is required in more critical winter conditions. The tread design, and the special geometry of the grooves (patented by Prometeon) and sipes allow TH:01 Coach to maintain optimal traction and wet grip performance during the entire life of the product, says the firm.

H:01 Coach has attained a ‘B’ rating for wet grip, guaranteeing optimal braking performance in case of rain.

The new H:01 Coach also contributes to greater efficiency, thanks to a reduction of up to 10 per cent in rolling resistance compared with the previous version, with a consequent reduction in fuel consumption.

TH:01 has a ‘B’ rating for energy efficiency. The optimisation of the tread profile also delivers an increase up to 10 per cent in mileage compared with the previous version, says Prometeon.

The reduction of noise generation (with external rolling noise class 68dB for FH:01 Coach and 69dB for TH:01 Coach), together with the progressive response and optimisation of the tread design, are said to ensure greater comfort for both driver and passengers.

The FH:01 Coach range includes sizes 295/80R22.5 (with a 156/149M load index) and 315/80R22.5 (with a 158/150L load index).

They provide an increase in the capacity of the front axle respectively to 8.0 and 8.5 tonnes, in line with the needs of next-generation electric and hybrid vehicles.

“The H:01TM Coach tyres are the result of a constant research and development of solutions that allow us to reach important improvements in specific performances, while maintaining high levels in already consolidated ones,” said Alexandre Bregantim, Prometeon’s chief technical officer

“We constantly invest in innovations that enrich the technological package of the 01 Series, through new patents.

“This approach also extends to the production process and to materials: the optimisation of the vulcanisation cycle and the use of special compound formulations reduce the heat generation of the carcass while in operation, maximising its durability beyond the first life.

“H:01 Coach, with higher mileage, reduced rolling resistance, among the best in class positioning for safety and a further increased load index, confirms Prometeon’s goal of providing products and solutions for an increasingly efficient and sustainable mobility.”
