Istobal launches new high-pressure wash system
Washing equipment provider Istobal has designed a new high-pressure wash system for fixed heavy-duty facilities, said to represent an effective, versatile and profitable approach to vehicle cleaning.
“It eliminates all kind of dirt and achieves a top-quality wash thanks to the integration of all the wash solutions: high and low pressure, disinfection programme, high flow wash, foamy programme, chemical pre-washes,” said the company.
Up to six programmes and four chemical products can be incorporated with the new equipment.
“Its multiple advantages include the exact control of costs and saving time in commercial manual wash, thanks to its controlled dosage, time regulation by programme and chemical level sensors,” the firm continued.
“It can be installed with one or two pumps to adapt to the needs of each type of vehicle or for two independent tracks. In addition, it can be used with three kinds of water (mains, hot, softened and/ or purified water).”
The new jet wash for commercials can integrate an IoT connectivity system to obtain real-time information and facilitate its maintenance through remote control. Thanks to the incorporation of the Smartwash by Istobal technology, reaction capacity is increased when resolving any incident via Istobal’s technical service.
Smartwash sensors provide information about the condition of the installation and its components, with warning detection and incidence classification. It also provides data on the consumption of chemical levels, electricity and water, as well as other technical data on the status of the jet wash.
The company adds that its new commercial vehicle jet wash is especially recommended for truck applications including crane trucks, tankers, tipper trucks, garbage trucks, trucks for the transport of live cattle, and mining vehicles.
It has special programmes for external and internal disinfection using low pressure and the controlled application of disinfectant.

Further options from Istobal include the HW’Progress rollover, which is said to adapt to the specific features of each individual vehicle to improve results.
Optional extras include side high-pressure to complete the brush-wash process on the lower side of the truck or on corners inaccessible to the brush such as rims, underside or tanks; and a foamy chemical pre-wash to guarantee greater efficiency of the chemical product thanks to a longer reaction time on the vehicle’s surface. In addition, the automatic application of the chemical prewash also saves time and enables to control consumption, says Istobal.
An under-chassis wash can also be included to eliminate the dirt buildup on the lowest areas of the truck, as well as a disinfection programme.
Istobal’s Smartwash Fleets platform can automate and monitor the wash process, and provide real-time data on aspects such as wash frequency, registered vehicles or wash programmes – as well as speeding up and optimising the cleaning process.
“A complete commercial wash facility by Istobal is also environmentally friendly as it has recycling systems to recycle the water and reuse it for the next wash,” added the company.
“The biological system uses bacteria that degrade organic matter in water, whereas the physical one filters suspended particles in water with zeolite, for water to be reused in the first phases of the wash process.”

- Manual chemical pre-wash in specific areas.
- Automatic application of foamy alkaline product.
- Brush-wash and side high-pressure.
- Final rinse with demineralised water to get a perfect finish.
