Spindrift to stock Laser Industrie sprayers
Dedicated sprayer wholesaler Spindrift Sprayers has taken on its third professional spraying brand produced by Hozelock-Exel, to provide it with access to customers in the vehicle cleaning and detailing sector.
“We are looking to build a network of Laser Industrie distributors across the UK as successfully as we have done with the Cooper Pegler and Berthoud sprayer brands, which we have supplied for some years now to the horticulture, amenity and sports sectors,” said Spindrift managing director Trevor Helme (pictured, right).
Family-run Spindrift sells thousands of sprayers annually, so potential supply uncertainties surrounding Brexit, then the impact of Covid-19, sparked some serious management strategy to ensure customer continuity.
“Nobody knew what was going to happen,” Trevor recalled. “I travelled to the manufacturer Hozelock-Exel’s headquarters in France and stressed that we wanted to stock up well before Brexit.
Trevor expects demand for vehicle cleaning and car detailing products to bounce back rapidly as Britain emerges from lockdown in the months ahead.
“This is an exciting sector for Spindrift,” said Trevor, who has more than 30 years’ experience of selling and servicing compression and knapsack sprayers.
“We will be supplying Laser Industrie professional sprayers to the same fully specified service commitment as the other brands we wholesale.
“Vehicle cleaning is very much an on-demand operation that depends not only on robust, hard-wearing sprayer products but fast, reliable supply of accessories and spare parts – an aspect of service we can comfortably deliver with the Laser Industrie brand as they are broadly similar across the three Hozelock-Exel brands we handle.”
The complex range of liquids vehicle cleaning requires spans the pH range from acid to alkaline, and demands robust, hardwearing products to deliver them safely and reliably.
Laser Industrie sprayer seals are made to withstand whichever liquids operators apply, in closely calibrated pressures, quantities and dilutions specific to the surface – EPDM for alkalis, Viton and Super Viton for acids.
Nozzle specification is also critical to successful results.
“There’s one designed for each application, from those delivering aerosols, fine sprays and mists to ones geared to flood jetting,” said Trevor.
He added: “Being positioned close to major motorway routes feeding the north and south we can usually deliver stocks and accessories within 24 hours to help keep the wheels of the vehicle cleaning sector rolling.”
Spindrift already runs a network of distributors across the UK but Trevor is eager to expand the network.
“I aim to be the biggest sprayer wholesaler in the UK and taking on the Laser Industrie brand can help us achieve that ambition within a framework of a caring, family-run business.”
Users of Laser Industrie products include vehicle detailer Stuart Staples, who runs Auto Genie, pictured here applying tyre shine to a motor racing transporter using a Laser 2 EPDM pressure sprayer.
“The sprayers are robust and provde a reliable, consistent pressure for liquids across the pH range,” said Stuart.
“I’m also impressed with the spray accuracy and the fact that the pressure shaft is metal, rather than plastic.”
