Putting safety in motion with Checkpoint

Wheel safety specialist Checkpoint’s wheel nut indicators have been supporting vehicle fleet operations for over 25 years, and are said to be utilised in some form by around a third of all commercial vehicles in the UK.

“With wheel nut indicators just one of the many products that make up Checkpoint’s range of intelligent safety solutions, its safety benefits serve all manner of wheels and equipment across a variety of sectors,” said the company.

“Originally designed when Checkpoint’s founder and CEO Mike Marczynski identified an issue with loose wheel nuts on one of his vehicles at the time, Mike began work on designing a solution that was not only simple to use, but offered considerable safety benefits too.

“The result of this was the Checkpoint Original, providing drivers with a simple method of checking that their wheel nuts are tight and secure before the driver starts their day’s work.”

Today, the Checkpoint range of products consists of solutions beyond that of simply indicating unwanted wheel nut movement. Products for retaining wheel nuts to prevent unwanted movement, along with maintenance and security options for wheels and machinery, are also available.

“Designed with the common theme of visual safety and preventative maintenance in mind, the Checkpoint range of intelligent safety solutions provides a clear commitment to health and safety and roadworthiness to other road users, and road and transportation associations such as DfT, FORS, DVSA, HSE, FTA and RHA,” the company added.
