Parksafe Group launches accident reporting app
Vehicle safety equipment provider Parksafe Group has introduced new app for driver checks and accident reporting.
The On Demand Driver App works seamlessly with the Parksafe On Demand platform and is easy use, says Parksafe Group, providing live data of daily vehicle checks, journey summaries, driver information and accident reporting.
Drivers use the app to register the condition of their vehicle before starting their shift. Users need simply walk around the vehicle, pass or fail the specified areas of the vehicle and submit the report, before starting each shift.
If an accident occurs during the driver’s shift, a live alert is registered on the Parksafe On Demand platform. Information of the incident and third party details can be easily logged via the app and assistance can be accessed 24/7.
The system assigns the driver to the vehicle via a driver ID system, and asks the driver to self-certify their fitness to drive, and confirm they have a valid licence to operate the vehicle type. It can be used to record photographic evidence of any damage/failures.
Drivers can see their own driver scores for the month, week or day, and company documents can be stored on the app such as driver duties, highway code and insurance. The app additionally offers access to historic checks for DVSA roadside checks, and incident reporting whereby, at the scene of an accident, a walk-through report can capture third parties’ details and witness statements.
Parksafe On Demand features visibility on all daily checks in real time, the ability to export checks, and a widget system making it easy to see passes, fails and incomplete checks. Photos can be viewed in reports, and can be included in the exported reports.
Meanwhile, Parksafe Group has also launched a new secure tamperproof dash cam for use with HGVs and LGVs.
Its Vision Dash Cams are now available in kits that have security options, rear cameras and the option of a dashboard monitor.
The Parksafe Vision Full HD 1080p Front Dash Camera includes the anti-tamper case, which prevents removal of the Micro SD card. A unique Wi-Fi password, held by the vehicle/dash cam owner, prevents dash cam evidence being tampered with or deleted via the app.
“The dash camera captures your journey in crisp high definition, providing you with ultra-clear HD recordings,” said the company.
“With built-in Wi-Fi, you can connect your smartphone or tablet to the dash camera (if given the unique Wi-Fi password) allowing you to view and transfer your recorded files easily…
“The newly UK designed and manufactured secure locking box is the perfect tool for any fleet that requires complete safety and peace of mind.”
Users can also add an additional camera, in the form of any of the company’s AHD 720p or Full HD 1080p Cameras, to record from the rear, side, driver or the load area. This option is said to be ideal for LGV panel vans, HGVs and taxi vehicles.
“Additionally you can add an AHD 720p or Full HD 1080p monitor to act as a manoeuvring and parking aid, this can be linked to indicator and reverse gear triggers so the camera automatically appears when you need it to,” added Parksafe Group.
