IMS announces VSE distribution deal
Trailer technology provider IMS Group recently announced its appointment as exclusive distributor of VSE electro-hydraulic trailer steering systems for all of Europe, UK and Ireland, as of May 2021.
Previously IMS Group had only distributed VSE products within the Benelux, UK and Ireland.
“The expansion into the European market is a strategic choice, which ensures that trailer builders and transporters throughout Europe can rely on the most advanced steering systems from VSE in combination with the excellent services of IMS Group,” said the company.
An electro-hydraulic system from VSE combines two characteristics, says the company – optimum manoeuvrability, without taking up installation space.
“Because the system can be configured with one to three steered axles, the number of possible applications is endless,” said IMS Group.
“An electro-hydraulic steering system is a future-oriented solution that will also soon deliver a return on your investment… because it will enable you to significantly standardise and improve the productivity of your fleet, almost removing the need for smaller city trailers that you would require in the city and small tighter locations that are inaccessible with standard length trailers.”
The system takes up very little installation space, say IMS, and is no less than 400kg lighter than most mechanical systems in the marketplace. This means operators can make significant savings on fuel while retaining optimal loading capacity and manoeuvrability, says the firm, while reducing tyre wear without sacrificing much load capacity.
The company says VSE steering systems have more than proven their value in applications such as bulk transport, container transport, tank transport and distribution networks.
