RLP lifts service levels for Palfinger

RLP Distribution, based in Hull, East Yorkshire, was formed in early 2019 to exclusively facilitate the sales, distribution and technical support for Palfinger tail lift products across a large commercial network encompassing the UK and Europe.

Owned and operated by Motus Vehicle Solutions – a division of Motus Holdings (UK) Ltd – RLP’s stated aim is to continually supply parts as quickly as possible and to direct constant focus towards streamlining logistics. With a stock holding of over £1 million, the firm says it endeavours to provide a slick, efficient and stress-free service to its broad customer base.

“When we took over the distribution contract for Palfinger Tail Lifts UK, we understood the requirement for improvement within the supply chain to enable the industry to keep vehicles on the road, minimise downtime, and to help reduce avoidable expense to the end user,” said operations manager James Markham.

“Therefore we feel that the positive steps we have taken have contributed in adding further value to the Palfinger brand.”

RLP cites its strong customer service ethic, exceptional IT systems and a forward-thinking team as key to its aims of reviving and revitalising distribution within the load handling sector – and says that, with over 50 years’ experience in load handling within both the tail lift and forklift industries, the foundations are in place for future expansion.

Liam Noone, commercial director of Palfinger Tail Lifts UK, said: “In May 2019, Palfinger appointed RLP Distribution as sole distributor for our spare parts in UK. Despite an understandable level of nervousness about moving such a key service away from the main business, we can look back and state that this was a great business decision.

“The service levels that our customers receive from RLP has really improved and the responsiveness regularly gets positive reviews. The team at RLP work very closely with our supply chain to ensure that customers get the service they expect.

“And while the last couple of years have been challenging for us all, we are proud that RLP kept the service running 24/7 at all times. We very much look forward to an even better 2022.”

Whilst tail lift parts distribution is currently the sole focus of RLP, the company says it is perfectly placed to facilitate logistics and distribution across a broad range of industries moving forward.
