Majorsell helps Dr Air-Brake drive compliance
Diagnostics specialist Doctor Air-Brake has announced it has joined forces with airbrake products supplier Majorsell Ltd, to help distribute its ISO Check and ISO Tool devices via a number of truck motor factors.
The two small devices are designed to plug into the dedicated tractor-trailer EBS connection, enabling either the driver/operator or fleet manager to make a simple visual check that the system is in good working order.
If the visible end glows green, the EBS power, fault warning and CAN are all compliant. If there is an issue, it will glow red. Once the ISO Check/Tool has completed its diagnostic mode, which only takes a few seconds, it will flash a code, letting the operator know which PIN on the EBS socket is at fault. For example, two flashes mean Pin 2 is faulty.
This saves significant time and helps technicians fix the problems quickly, says Doctor Air-Brake, as well as helping drivers with their walk-around checks and reducing the potential for fines and OCRS points if the vehicle is pulled over at a roadside. It enables managers to make a quick ‘go/ no go’ decision as trucks pull out of the yard, adds the firm, and reduces the risk of accidents or rollovers.
The ISO Tool can also benefit mobile or workshop technicians when carrying out six-weekly checks, says the company – removing any confusion when a trailer shows a fault as to which part of the combination is the culprit, thereby saving valuable time thanks to early warning of defects, and allowing technicians to quickly identify where the fault lies.
