Gott adds Groove Glove to inspection range
Garage equipment supplier Gott Technical Services offers a full portfolio for commercial vehicles, including brake testers, emissions analysers, headlamp beam testers, and wheel and tyre servicing equipment, along with inspection pits and pit jacks.

The range includes heavy duty brake testers for in-house testing or ATF use, while the Technique range of headlamp testers features a rugged light box, solid bar rails, laser aligner, Fresnel lens, and LED guidance system for re-aligning lighting systems.
Emissions analysers include the Technique T8002 diesel smoke meter, which has category A and B testing programs and extended probes for testing emissions from vertical stacks on commercial vehicles from floor level.
A new addition to Gott’s range is the Groove Glove, a handheld tyre tread depth scanner. Providing almost instant reporting of tyre tread depth, uneven wear, and possible alignment or suspension issues, the Groove Glove is said to offer a quick and easy means of checking and recording the condition of a vehicle’s tyres.
Scanning is performed by an accurate and safe laser reader, and there are no moving parts. An interactive LCD display immediately shows the results of the scan (maximum wear) in the palm of the operator’s hand; there is no need for a tablet to be balanced in the other hand to view the result.
The Groove Glove can scan vehicles from cars through to multi-axle HGVs. Visual inspection information such as ‘nail in tyre’, ‘cord showing’, ‘side wall damage’ etc can be chosen from a dropdown box, and included in the report. Extra information such as tyre age and size can be added manually. The product is stocked in the UK with full service and parts backup.
“With the Groove Glove, operators can formalise vehicle safety checks and log all tyre related information such as wear, damage, age, and size in one comprehensive report,” said Gott.
