LPW expands fleet wash network

Vehicle washing services provider LPW Europe has recently expanded its network of sites, as well as the extent of its mobile fleet washing service.

The company opened a new facility last year in central Manchester, introducing a brand new tankwash site for the North West.

Equipped with the latest technology and equipment, the site provides a specialist cleaning and sanitisation service for road tankers, tank containers, and all other intermodal equipment.

The complete pressurised tank washes can thoroughly clean a vast range of food substances including edible oils, sugars, chocolate, flour, juices and dairy products. As a dedicated food grade tankwash, no chemical cleaning takes place on the site, says LPW, meaning the possibility of cross-contamination is significantly reduced.

LPW Europe’s first truckwash site was built in Silvertown, East London nearly 50 years ago.

Since then, the family-owned national fleet cleaning specialist has grown to operate several truck and tankwash sites, and also covers the majority of the UK through its mobile fleetwash services.

Each site is strategically placed in close proximity to major travel route links, providing an accessible service for fleets from larger haulage operations to independent businesses. Facilities are located at Alconbury, Avonmouth, Castleford, Coneygarth, Felixstowe, Manchester and Purfleet.

Meanwhile, the company reports that, as a result of continuous growth, its Mobile Fleetwash service has now expanded to European locations.

LPW’s Mobile Fleetwash provision covers the length and breadth of the UK, with a nationwide network of mobile truck washing units cleaning thousands of vehicles each week on clients’ sites. Customers are able to arrange their fleet to be washed at a location to suit, at a time to suit their business.

LPW highlights its commitment to providing a quality service to customers in the most sustainable way possible – including through its wastewater containment and recycling system, which takes care of drainage and discharge.

For a business, having vehicles cleaned on-site is the most convenient and efficient way of keeping them in the best condition, says the company, while also minimising time spent off the road.

However, there are common obstacles which mean that this is not always an option for a site – for example, due to a lack of foul drains, connection to interceptor tanks, or consent to discharge from local authorities.

Mobile Fleetwash’s practices not only ensure an eco-friendly approach, says LPW, but also solve any drainage or discharge issues a customer may face.

“Using a range of specialist equipment operated by skilled professionals, LPW’s aim is to recycle water used during washes as much as possible,” said the firm.

In addition to the truckwash, tankwash, and Mobile Fleetwash services, LPW Group also includes LPW Fleetsales, which specialises in buying and selling ex-supermarket vans and used delivery vehicles across the UK. Operating from six national locations, the fleetsales division has de-fleeted and sold over 4,000 vehicles to date.

Meanwhile, LPW Fleetcare is the group’s fleet cleaning products distribution arm.

“From traffic film remover to industrial screenwash, LPW Fleetcare’s full range sells everything needed for fleet cleaning and maintenance, which is all available through an accessible online shop platform,” the company added.

“Over recent years, the group has successfully acquired three new businesses to now be in a position to offer commercial vehicle parts and products, a professional valeting service, and retail building cleaning.”
