Suez keeps RCVs clean with Totalkare
Suez Recycling & Recovery UK has facilitated an upgrade to the washbay at a Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea (RBKC) vehicle depot through the purchase of a Totalkare heavy duty lift.
Part of the global Suez group, the company handles over 10 million tonnes of waste and serves thousands of businesses and millions of residents across the UK, including in Kensington & Chelsea.
As part of a project being delivered at the RBKC Kensington depot, which services and maintains a varied fleet of council vehicles, Suez collaborated with Totalkare for the installation of a heavy-duty vehicle lifting solution suitable for outdoor washbay use.
Totalkare installed a galvanised heavy duty four-post lift featuring a ten-metre platform length and 26,000kg lifting capacity, with sealed bearings and a fully galvanised finish providing long term protection from water ingress. The new lift is operated by Suez and used for the washing of vehicles that service the RBKC waste collection.
The four-post lift from Totalkare is available in both indoor and galvanised outdoor options, in a range of lifting capacities from 16,000kg to 33,000kg, and with platform lengths ranging from 7 – 18 metres. Additional options, such as jacking beams and lighting kits are also available.
The Kensington depot is currently undergoing a major modernisation project, of which the washbay refurbishment was one part.

The washbay upgrade was a necessary part of the project due to changes in modern vehicle design meaning that the existing concrete washbay was becoming unsuitable to use.
