Loads of lifting solutions from Tecalemit
Tecalemit Garage Equipment Ltd offers a variety of lifting solutions for commercial vehicle applications, having been manufacturing and suppling specialist vehicle lifts since 1922.
The specific heavy-duty requirements of CV workshops are catered for with options including static four-post or scissor options, through to mobile column lifts that can be configured in sets of four, six or more in order to provide versatile lifting capability.
Lifting capacity and platform length are two criteria that are at the foremost of the purchase considerations for many CV workshop operators, says the company. Its Leviathan range starts with an 8t capacity with a 6.2m platform length model.
“Consideration also has to be given to the access width between the columns,” the firm said.
“Here the Tecalemit range offers a generous 3,300mm drive through width. [It] can be configured for surface or recess mounting options.
“Despite the increased capacity of the Tecalemit Leviathan Lifts, the minimum height for surface mount options start at an impressive 190mm. The four post lifts can be accompanied by a suitable capacity jacking beam and further enhanced with an optional lighting kit.
“Additional capacity options and platform length increase through 12t, 16t, 20t, 25t and 30t capacity options with platform lengths of up to 20m. The 16t models increase the drive through width to 3500mm to provide extra clearance for buses and coaches with fixed mirrors.
“The platform widths are manufactured at 810mm wide to ensure that twin wheeled vehicles are fully supported by the platform. All models feature both mechanical and hydraulic safety systems and acoustic warning on final descent.”
The Tecalemit Leviathan range of heavy duty scissor lifts is engineered to the very highest standards and offer outstanding specifications, performance and value for money, says the company.

t Leviathan scissor lifts are designed for recessed installation into the workshop floor; this ensures easy access for all types of vehicle in addition to allowing free movement of vehicles in the area of the lift when it is not in use,” the company continued.
“The absence of lift post also provides the commercial vehicle operator with additional opportunities for positioning lifts closer to adjacent walls whist still maintaining mandatory health and safety requirements covering distance between adjacent walls and the body of the lift.”
The lifts are offered in two weight capacities – 10t or 20t – and five different lengths. The lift platforms are fitted with jacking rails allowing an appropriate jacking beam to be used in conjunction with each load capacity.
These lifts are also fitted with mechanical safety latching, hydraulic safety valves and automatic platform levelling with volumetric synchronisation, adds the company, ensuring that the lifting system achieves the highest internationally recognised safety standards.
For increased workshop flexibility, Tecalemit also offers the Leviathan and Finkbeiner range of mobile column lifts.
“The Leviathan range of electromechanical mobile lifting columns represent the most versatile and economic method of lifting commercial vehicles, coaches and buses for under-body inspection and repairs,” said the company.
“The range starts with a lifting capacity of 5.5t per column that can be configured in sets of 4, 6 or 8 columns. Each lifting carriage is raised via a Nylatron lifting nut mounted to a cold rolled steel screw operated via a 3ph motor controlled via individual PLC units which also continuously synchronise each column, ensuring that all carriages remain level +/-5mm throughout the lifting cycle. Columns are manoeuvred into position using the integral trolley system.
“The Tecalemit Leviathan mobile column lifts can be used on any suitable concrete floor. The lifting capacity can be increased by utilising either 7.5t, 8.5t or 10t models. A flexible control system allows for expansion of the column set for 4 or 6 column units. Electronic synchronisation of columns and operating controls on all columns allow for easy control by the user.”
The Finkbeiner range of electro-hydraulic column lifts from Tecalemit are battery driven, with wireless radio controlled communication between each column and the control system.
“Each column is independent and is equipped with maintenance-free batteries,” added the company.
“Operation of the mobile column is controlled with the LCD display on the designated master column. The control capability can be upgraded to provide operator controls on each column for the ultimate in versatility.”
