Passenger transport trade body CPT and training provider Lloyd Morgan Group have launched CPT Training, a new proposition designed to develop industry skills and support compliance.

The launch event was held at bus operator trent barton’s head office in Heanor, Derbyshire and hosted by its CEO, Jeff Counsell. North-west traffic commissioner, Gerallt Evans, was in attendance.

The new partnership is said to offer a comprehensive range of bus and coach industry training courses, and CPT members will benefit from an exclusive discount.

Training courses available will include the Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC), including CPC Refresher Courses, Vehicle Inspector Training (optional irtec accreditation), and Driver CPC Periodic Training.

All training courses will be delivered by Lloyd Morgan Group which is accredited by IMI, Jaupt and CILT and is UKCAS certified. LMG is an approved Earned Recognition auditor and is one of the largest UK delivery centres for irtec accreditations and Transport Manager CPCs.

Training can be delivered online, in a classroom or onsite. CPT members interested in finding out more about CPT Training can do so by visiting the members area of CPT’s website.

Commenting on the launch of CPT Training, CPT chief executive Graham Vidler said: “I’m delighted that CPT and Lloyd Morgan Group have come together to provide a high quality and exclusive offer for CPT members. One of the key criteria for CPT in selecting a training partner was ensuring excellent customer care and service provision for our members and I’m confident this will be delivered by Lloyd Morgan Group.”

“These are training solutions developed by the industry for the industry and I encourage CPT members to speak to Lloyd Morgan Group about how they can benefit, both financially and through improved training propositions, from this new partnership.”

Sam Law, brand and project manager at Lloyd Morgan Group, added: “We have already been working with CPT for over a decade delivering compliance solutions for the passenger transport industry and we are delighted to be expanding this partnership with CPT to provide effective training solutions for members too.

“CPT Training will provide the knowledge base to help ensure bus and coach companies operate a compliant and efficient transport business.”

Traffic commissioner Gerallt Evans said: “Traffic commissioners view continuing professional development for operators, transport managers and drivers as an important part of the compliance regime.

“We value the efforts of the diverse organisations that provide high quality accredited training services to the industry. My fellow traffic commissioners and I welcome the development of the CPT Training Service that will further strengthen the choice of providers available to the industry.”
