Powertrain’s 50-plus years supporting driveline manufacturers started with the early AEC-Thorneycroft, then Eaton and ZF, and culminating with its appointment as the sole UK Allison Transmission Direct Dealer.

The company highlights its emphasis on offering proactive customer-focused quality and service, and Allison Transmission has recently awarded Powertrain its Gold Standard for Outstanding Performance for the second year running.

Powertrain’s field service engineers are strategically located throughout the UK, and to ensure they remain abreast of all the latest developments they all spend time at Allison Transmission’s training school at its European headquarters in the Netherlands.

An additional service offered by Powertrain is to carry out health checks, adaption programming and the very specialised Allison Transmission Driveline Analysis, which allows identification of any potential issues, thus ensuring the longevity of customers’ transmissions.

As Allison Transmission’s Direct Dealer for the UK, Powertrain is authorised to carry out Allison Transmission warranty diagnostics, repairs and reprogramming. In addition, all service engineers carry the necessary specialised tooling and parts needed to both diagnose faults and carry out any required repairs, ensuring a ‘first time fix’ in line with Powertrain’s ethos.

Powertrain says it has been working tirelessly to improve the quality of aftermarket service provided to operators of Allison transmissions.

Located at Powertrain’s National Service Centre is the company’s remanufacturing Centre of Excellence.

One of the most important aspects of any remanufacturing process is the final functional testing, says Powertrain. It emphasises its commitment to continual investment in both staff and equipment; as a result, it says, no expense has been spared on the computer-controlled test facilities which ensure that every remanufactured driveline product passes through a rigorous functional testing procedure, obtaining certification prior to dispatch.

Powertrain has over 50 years’ experience in remanufacturing and is recognised as a Centre of Excellence in the field of remanufacturing transmissions, axles, differentials and steering products.

“With industry leading remanufacturing technology and genuine parts, Powertrain’s customers can rest assured that they will be getting a product built and tested to the exact same standards as brand new factory products,” said the company.

Powertrain’s National Service Centre, located in Willenhall in the West Midlands, stocks thousands of genuine Allison parts, lubricants and over 300 genuine Allison ReTran exchange transmissions.

“With a first time pick ratio of 98 per cent, customers are able to call in and collect from our extensively stocked parts department or take advantage of the next day delivery service.

“Powertrain’s experienced sales and service team are on hand to assist customers, both old and new, with all enquiries.”
