Martins Industries, a household name in the North American tyre equipment sector, has recently acquired UK-based wheel nut indicator specialist Checkpoint, whose products will now augment Martins’ existing extensive tyre and wheel offering.

Martins says the addition of the British firm to its portfolio was motivated by Checkpoint’s reputation for superior quality and its 30 years of expertise – driven by Checkpoint founder, CEO, and inventor Mike Marczynski (pictured below, left).

“We’re proud to now count in our ranks the extensive know-how and knowledge of the Checkpoint team, as well as the reputation for quality the brand has justly acquired over the years,” said Martin Dépelteau, CEO of Martins (pictured below, right).

Checkpoint will be integrated as seamlessly as possible into the Martins family, says the company, meaning that Checkpoint clients, partners and team members can expect business as usual in terms of operations, distribution, quality and personality.

Martins Industries designs, manufactures and sells a variety of tyre and wheel-related supplies and equipment, with an emphasis on improving safety and efficiency in the workplace. The company operates numerous distribution centres and is active around the world including in North America, Europe and Australia.

“Martins wants to continue to fully support B2B distribution for Checkpoint and the excellent work the team is doing, and believes adding this dynamic to their existing lines of products reinforces their presence in the market in every aspect,” said the company, in a statement announcing the move.

“This will certainly lead to plenty of opportunities to grow down the road.”
