Osram launches warning and safety lights

Lighting provider Osram has introduced a range of products to help maximise the safety of drivers and other road users, while offering maximum visibility in dangerous situations.

These include the Osram LEDguardian Truck Flare Signal, designed to provide visibility on a busy road in the event of an accident.

“The LED warning light is visible from a great distance and can warn drivers about a dangerous situation on the road by actively flashing, compared to the simple reflection such as that of a warning triangle,” explained Osram.

“The Truck Flare can be used as a warning light, as it has an amber flashing light function and an uninterrupted operating time of at least 15 hours. It also has a bright white torch light function, allowing drivers to take a closer look at their vehicle in dark or dimly lit situations.

“With six long-life, high-power LEDs with up to 6000K, drivers can draw attention to a breakdown by day and night, and preventively alert and warn other road users of a dangerous situation.

“The compact design means the warning light can be stored within easy reach in the vehicle and, if required, it can be set up quickly and easily directly next to a warning triangle thanks to the fold-out, robust and non-slip feet.”

The LEDguardian Truck Flare Signal TA19 has been tested and validated in Osram’s DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 certified environmental simulation laboratory for extreme external influences in terms of water, dust, heat, cold and impacts from falls. With an IP54 protection class, it is resistant to the ingress of water and dust.

Osram has also introduced the Lightsignal Halogen Beacon Light. The 360° rotating amber beacon can be mounted on vehicles with unusual widths, length or load, as well as on municipal vehicles, emergency vehicles, command vehicles and accident assistance vehicles to draw attention to a hazard in road traffic or in the working environment.

“The beacon is suitable for 24V vehicles and offers a versatile option thanks to the robust and functional design. The three-point mounting system also allows the beacon to be securely and firmly mounted on the vehicle roof,” said the firm.

“The Osram Lightsignal HAL includes a high-quality H1 halogen lamp with up to 1900 lumens and 2200 Kelvin, ensuring improved visibility no matter the time of day or night.

“Thanks to its non-slip, shock-absorbing rubber base, the warning light from Osram is particularly resistant to vibration. At the same time, the fully rubberised base contributes as a seal between the product and the underground.

“To reduce and prevent dirt from accumulating on the beacon, the Osram Lightsignal HAL uses a smooth surface on the housing.

“With the help of a special texture inside the housing and through the highly polished parabolic reflector, an efficient and effective light output is generated, producing high luminosity. “

It has been tested in Osram’s environmental simulation laboratory for extreme external influences in terms of water, dust, heat and cold and has been validated with IP protection class IP65.

Meanwhile, the Lightsignal LED Beacon Light has many of the same features and benefits as its halogen counterpart, says Osram – as well as offering a low power consumption, making it suitable for use over a long period of time.

“The product provides high efficiency lighting thanks to eight long-life high-power LEDs with up to 1900 Kelvin and 1200 Lumen,” the company continued.

“Due to the compact and modern design, the beacon offers different application possibilities and a high flexibility since this is compatible with both 12V and 24V vehicles.

“As well as offering protection class of IP65, the Osram Lightsignal LED also offers IK08. The integrated thermal management system regulates the temperature of the LED light and can prevent damage from overheating.

“The polarity protection inhibits incorrect polarity reversal in the power supply and can thus avert possible damage, due to the automatic shutdown of the LEDs.”
