Fleet services provider AS24 offers a tracking service to assist with trailer security, which it says can also help simplify trailer management.

The Findit service deploys autonomous electronic devices including a tracker to enable trailer location, and a tag to monitor trailer unhitching. The system uses the Sigfox network and devices have a five-year battery life.

Advantages are said to include easy and quick installation on all types of trailers; fitment can be completed by a single person in less than five minutes.

A dedicated web area is available for tracking the trailers, with location data indicated on a map, and the ability to manage and activate alerts. Cited benefits include clear and intuitive navigation, and data can be accessed securely from all digital media, with integration into AS24 billing.

Trailers can be tracked while on the move based on last position data, and managers can see when a unit has been at a stop for between 20 minutes and 12 hours, or for more than 12 hours.

Alerts can be generated in the event of theft or unauthorised unhitching.

Optional additional benefits include notifications of when maintenance is in progress, due within less than two weeks, or the deadline has expired.

Findit is offered with no set-up fees and subscription without a commitment of duration.
