Trailer components producer Jost has showcased its latest axle and fifth wheel technology at IAA Transportation 2022 in Hannover, Germany.

Returning for the first time in four years, IAA Transportation is one of the largest automotive exhibitions in the world. This year, for the first time, Jost World was showcasing its portfolio in both the indoor area of the exhibition and outdoors, where a series of live demonstrations took place.

Jost GB managing director, Danny Broomfield, commented: “What a pleasure to be back at IAA in Hannover after so long and to spend face-to-face time with our global colleagues, and customers from the UK and across the world.

“It was a pleasure to be able to showcase to our customers everything which Jost can offer, organised across the three core themes of: Assistance, Sustainability and Digitalisation.”

Central to the ‘Assistance’ theme was KKS – the automatic coupling system which enables the driver to couple and uncouple a semi-trailer via remote control automatically, safely and quickly. The result, says Jost, is increased efficiency, convenience and safety for operators; and the company highlights the product’s credentials as a key component in autonomous driving.

In addition to KKS, visitors to the stand were also able to experience first-hand Jost’s new fifth-wheel with integrated camera technology, and drawbar finder and RO*400 Easy Mount towing hitch from Rockinger.

Another centrepiece of the Jost stand was the new Drum Modular Axle (DMA) series. Already launched in the UK, this was the first opportunity for customers in Europe to explore the new axle, developed as a direct result of customer feedback.

The DMA series expands on the existing Jost axles portfolio to offer customers a unique specification which has been designed to ensure easy maintenance and service to reduce workshop downtime.

Another axle making a starring role was the Jost ZGA command steer axle – along with the Tridec EF-S electronic steering system – and DCA Weightmaster Plus, which can offer up to a 50kg weight saving thanks to its optimised hub and light brake, helping customers to reduce vehicle weight for improved fuel efficiency and reduced emissions.

Completing the #jostassist, #jostgreen and #jostdigital offer, were products and solutions from across the Jost World portfolio, encompassing the Jost, Rockinger, Tridec and Quicke brands.

Danny Broomfield concluded: “IAA is all about innovation and the latest industry trends and with the plethora of game-changing solutions Jost had on display this year, it is clear to see that Jost remain firmly at the forefront of innovation when it comes to transport solutions for both today and the future.”
