Welwyn’s side curtain welding solution
Among the product portfolio offered by Welwyn Tool Group is the Leister Variant-T1, said to offer a robust, versatile, and high-performing solution for industrial textile welding.
It was designed with the aim of increased productivity when manufacturing items such as lorry side curtains and tarpaulins, marquees, and other PVC coated materials.
The fabric welding machine can be used for diverse industrial textile welding tasks ranging from hem and tape welding to applications pertaining to pole pockets and piping for PVC, PP or PE tarpaulins.
The economic Leister Variant-T1 boasts a welding speed of up to 18 metres per minute (59 feet per minute), says Welwyn. With higher welding speed comes faster throughput, the firm adds, without compromising on quality and user-friendliness.
“The ergonomic, adjustable guide handle, with length and angle adjustment, guides the welding machine perfectly, even at high speeds,” said the company.
“The guide rollers help the users to position the industrial fabrics while they are being operated on and keep it taut right up to the final centimetre.
“The Leister Variant-T1 also has an optional laser guide that can be installed to help keep the welder on the straightest welding course. With a floating axis which helps to compensate for minor unevenness in floors, a special process optimised nozzle design to ensure consistent and wrinkle-free welds, and a smooth lifting device for precise positioning, the state-of-the-art equipment enables high quality, safe and reliable welding.

Users can easily set and monitor welding parameters on the Leister Variant-T1 using the digital display with ‘e-Drive’, adds Welwyn.
