aide assists with misfuelling prevention
Vehicle equipment provider aide automotive has announced that it is handling worldwide distribution for the Diesel Head product, which can help prevent misfuelling when fitted to a variety of light commercial vehicles.
The Diesel Head protects diesel-powered vehicles against being accidentally refuelled with petrol, which can lead to costly repairs and hours of downtime.
aide automotive says misfuelling costs motorists millions per year, due to the need to flush out the incorrect fuel, fund any work required to correct damage to the vehicle and the cost of any associated components, and finally refuelling with the correct fuel – which can be expensive in itself given recent price trends.
“Diesel and petrol nozzles have different diameters,” said the company.
“The Diesel Head replaces the existing fuel filler cap and its patented Gate system will prevent any petrol nozzle from being inserted into the fuel tank.”
The Diesel Head device will only open when a diesel nozzle is inserted, and then allows refuelling.
“Diesel Head is a relatively easy installation,” said aide automotive.
“Robust and secure, the Diesel Head is the key to protecting from misfuelling.”
The system is said to fit all models of Iveco vans, Nissan vans and pickups, Peugeot vans, Toyota vans and pickups, and VW vans.
Further suitable applications include all Ford vans and pickups registered prior to 2011, all Mercedes van models from 2004 onwards, the Mitsubishi L200, and all Vauxhall van models except Vivaro and Movano. A variety of passenger cars are also covered.
