Roller brake testing (RBT) specialist VLT offers a DVSA-approved tachograph calibration add-on for its RBT units, featuring wireless functionality.

The add-on, which employs a laser detector, is said to offer ease of use and deliver precise measurements with maximum accuracy.

Compatible with all tachograph types, the system can complete a vehicle calibration in under two minutes.

“With both brake testing and tachograph calibration in a single bay, you get more space in the workshop, and with no cables from the tester to the console, it improves workshop health and safety,” said VLT.

The company is among the exhibitors at this week’s Euro Bus Expo at the NEC Birmingham (1-3 November), and will be promoting its brake testing equipment and installation services on Stand G90.

VLT designs, develops and manufactures its own RBTs at a purpose-built Netherlands facility.

Additional equipment supplied by the company includes headlight beam testers, diesel smoke meters, wireless wheel play detectors, axle load simulators, pit jacks and all other equipment and tools required for authorised testing facilities (ATFs).

In addition, the firm can handle ATF planning and installation, including assistance with DVSA approvals and sign-off.
