Autolift puts pit jacks in the spotlight

Pit jack specialist Autolift offers a comprehensive selection of jack styles and lifting capacities to assist with CV servicing.

“When deciding on what equipment to purchase for your workshop you want a brand that offers top performance, reliability and safety at a reasonable price,” said the company.

“Autolift fulfils all of this criteria and has an excellent reputation in the sector, as it has over 20 years of experience in the design and manufacture of commercial vehicle lifting equipment, with all parts made to the highest standard in the UK.

The pit jack range includes 13T, 20T, 30T and a heavy duty 40T model. All jacks have transversely sliding rams for accurate positioning under the lifting point, and most have a lifting stroke of 400mm but this can be lengthened further with a wide selection of extensions and alternative accessories.

All jacks come with a triple layer of safety features as standard – safety lowering valves, anti-burst valves and ram lock-off handles – but there is also an additional safety feature, security struts, which can be added.

Autolift also offers a 1.5-tonne heavy duty transmission jack which is designed to be extremely versatile for use in a pit or under a four-post lift. The transmission jack is available in both air and manual models, as well as coming with a universal tilt top suitable for most brands of engines and gearboxes.

“Workshops have a duty of care to their employees, and under LOLER regulations it is a legal requirement for employers to have annual testing of their lifting equipment,” the company advised.

“Autolift can assist in this endeavour by completing such inspections and provide a service of the equipment at the same time because, as with the vehicles they lift, regular preventative maintenance will not only decrease downtime in the long-run but also extend the overall working life of the equipment.”
