Cheshire manufacturer Tiger Trailers has reported growth in its output of 40 per cent in 2022, and turnover exceeding £90 million, reflecting the firm’s best year on record since its establishment in 2014.

Tiger’s financial performance last year, which was originally reported by business publication Insider, saw the company’s turnover rise to £91.4m against the previous year’s £65.2m.

Pre-tax profits increased to £4.8 million, meanwhile, representing more than a 70 per cent rise against the previous year.

The company, which is headquartered in Winsford, manufactures semi-trailers and truck bodywork for a variety of applications, including double-deckers, temperature-controlled units, swap body systems and specialist trailers.

Tiger supplies products for high-profile fleets such as Continental Tyres, DPD, Hovis, Maritime, Primark, Wren Kitchens and Yodel.

“2022 was an exciting year for Tiger Trailers, despite it being a year in which we faced many challenges to our business both internal and external,” said managing director Ed Booth.

“These challenges ranged from the unstable world economic and political climate resulting in shortages in supply of materials and increasing prices, to our own internal objectives of meeting our ever-increasing customer demand.

“We can be extremely proud of ourselves in the knowledge that we met all these challenges in the Tiger way, through hard work, innovative thinking, speed of decision making, customer focus and above all else working as one team.

“The result of these efforts have produced another record year in 2022 where we grew our output by nearly 40 per cent.”

He added: “Momentum has continued into 2023 as we continue to set new internal performance records for trailers manufactured, serving a breadth of new as well as existing customers.

“Alongside a healthy order book and strong delivery performance, we have continued to make significant progress in our work in the local community and with local charities through the Tiger Safety Team, Cheshire Community Foundation and The Prince’s Trust to name a few.

“We have also continued to pursue our environmental agenda through the installation of solar panels and the More Trees initiative planting a tree for every trailer sold.

“We look forward to many exciting future years where we are already securing new customers, exploring new markets, new innovations and continuously looking at how we improve what we do. Tiger is well positioned to take the next steps on this growth journey and at the heart of this is every single member of our team.”
