SCR pressure testing from Laser Tools
Laser Tools offers an SCR Selective Catalytic Reduction (urea) system pressure test kit (part number 8060) as part of its workshop equipment range.
“When these systems fail the engine will initially fall into “limp mode” and if not corrected, eventually the vehicle OBD system may prevent the vehicle starting,” explained Laser Tools.
“Part of the diagnostic routine for these SCR (AdBlue injection) systems is to measure the pressure in the system both electronically (via the OBD diagnostic software) and dynamically using pressure test gauges.
“The Laser 8060 provides the gauge and connection pipes required to allow the technician to directly measure the system pressure at the injector (dosing module) or pump.”
The kit includes two 300mm clear braided connection pipes, fitted with parallel and 90 degree 6.3mm snap connectors — this allows connection to the SCR system in restricted areas and enables the fluid colour to be observed. The kit is used in accordance with OEM vehicle data and instructions for SCR system testing and designed to be used with OEM diagnostic software and protocols.
Supplied in a sturdy case with foam inlay that can also be placed in a tool chest tray, the kit is available now from Laser Tools stockists.
