Axtec approved as weighbridge ‘self-verifier’

Axtec, the specialist manufacturer of axle weighing systems, has announced that it has gained approval to self-verify its Series 4000 and Series 5000 dynamic weighbridges.

Utilising its two specialist Weighbridge Test Vehicles and highly trained staff, Axtec is now authorised to verify its dynamic weighbridges for use for sale of goods by weight and other legal purposes.

Self-verification means that Axtec dynamic weighbridges may be approved for trade use by Axtec’s own, authorised staff, without the need to bring in trading standards officers to witness the test, saving costs and avoiding delays for customers.

“We have always been proud to offer a complete turnkey service, including our in-house surveying, construction, installation, calibration and service,” said Axtec managing director, Keith Gresham.

“This new accreditation means we can enhance that offering still further, improving service and value for our customers. It is also an acknowledgement of the high-quality products we develop, and the rigorous aftersales commitment which keeps our equipment in prime operating condition, optimising its accuracy and reliability.”

Meanwhile, Axtec has installed its new Series 5000 Dynamic Axle Weighbridge at Brit European’s new carbon neutral operating site in Middlewich – the Vita Nova Centre. Brit European reports immediate operational benefits, and is already looking to install a second dynamic weighbridge at another site.

Brit European’s new Vita Nova Centre is a new distribution and headquarters facility in Middlewich boasting excellent transport links adjacent to junction 18 of the M6.

Designed with two core environmental objectives in mind, Vita Nova Centre is 100 per cent carbon neutral in its build and operation and, secondly, it is completely off grid. The site fulfils a requirement as a 75-vehicle distribution hub and a head office for 50 staff.

The installation of the Axtec weighbridge at Vita Nova Centre required the construction of a perfectly flat 35-metre concrete slab, built to precise tolerances to ensure highly accurate weight analysis for all vehicle types. Axtec’s own specialist construction team design and build the slab before installing the dynamic weighing equipment.

Brit European’s 100 per cent carbon neutral Vita Nova Centre includes several environmentally protective amenities, including groundbreaking vertical axis wind turbines, the wide-spread use of solar power and the capture of rainwater before filtering and using it for truck washing and toilet flushing.

Dedicated to providing equipment to combat overloading, Axtec specialises exclusively in axle weighing. The company also designs and produces onboard axle load indicators and portable weighpad systems, to provide the appropriate solution for all customers.
