EGR expertise from Highway Automotive
With a 100 per cent focus on trucks, buses, and off-road applications, Highway Automotive has developed a broad replacement parts programme comprising more than 1,800 parts within the engine cooling, climate control and engine emissions control systems, which are said to perform to the standards of the original equipment fitment.
Although a relative newcomer to the UK, Highway Automotive is a truck specialist with more than 15 years of experience, which in 2020 became part of the Nissens Group.
“Highway Automotive’s goal is to not only be the first choice replacement brand for a range that covers radiators, intercoolers, fans, fan clutches, oil and retarder coolers, expansion tanks and valves, compressors, condensers, evaporators, heaters, blowers and driers, as well as exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) coolers, repair kits, and NOX sensors, but also a valued partner offering a one-stop service,” said the company.
Remanufactured parts are also among Highway Automotive’s specialties; it offers both complete and semi-remanufactured components for various systems such as radiators, intercoolers and EGR coolers.
“Focusing in on engine and emissions control, EGR is a Highway Automotive specialism as it offers a wide range of EGR system repair kits for the most popular MAN and Scania vehicles, including buses,” the firm added.
“These kits allow components and subassemblies to be repaired without damaging the engine or compromising the combustion process.
“To this end, particularly worthy of attention is the EGR cooler repair kit, which comes with a spare core and all the necessary seals and fasteners, which ensures installers are able to undertake and complete the repair successfully.
“However, in some instances, repair is not possible and a replacement cooler is the only option, and here once more, Highway Automotive is able to step in and provide the solution with a remanufactured component.”
Another product that simplifies the repair of the EGR system, the remanufactured cooler kit comes with either a new or remanufactured EGR valve.
“During the remanufacturing process, the EGR cooler is equipped with a new core and the proper function of the valve assembly is therefore restored through the repair of its individual components, including the valve body, or the replacement of any defective elements, such as its internal moving parts,” said Highway Automotive.
“As a result of using these Highway Automotive EGR system kits or components, workshops can significantly reduce costly vehicle downtime as they both speed up the repair process and reduce overheads.
“In addition, remanufactured components that in effect, extend the lifecycle of an existing product, contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions, which is an issue of global importance in every sector, not just the automotive industry.”
