Chereau rolls out energy-saving SmarTrailer
Refrigerated trailer specialist Chereau launched its new SmarTrailer range in November at the Solutrans exhibition in Lyon, France.
Damien Destremau, chairman and chief executive officer at Chereau, highlighted the company’s long commitment to protecting the environment, and said the new launch was directly in line with this trend. Cited advantages include energy-saving design and equipment, user-focused functionality to improve safety and ease of use, and a standard communications box, which is said to enable all customers to benefit from data and integrate their refrigerated semi-trailers into increasingly interconnected logistics flows.
“We have always paid particular attention to the quality and insulation performance of our vehicles,” said Damien Destremau.
“With this new range, we are going even further by increasing insulation performance by eight per cent as standard. Of course, we are retaining VIP technology in a Chereau SmarTrailer Performance version, with gains of around 21 per cent compared with our previous range, which is already a market benchmark.
“Like the standard connectivity, this further improved insulation offered on all our vehicles represents an important commitment that we are making to our customers and to the environment.
“Of course, we could have left all this as an option, and the choice up to the individual. However, we feel it is our duty to make more environmentally friendly solutions available to the market.
“At the same time, we are working on offering a wide choice of customised energy solutions for the refrigeration units in our vehicles. Diesel electric, hybrid with mains rechargeable battery, with or without an energy recovery axle… these are just some of the solutions that will enable each customer to find the vehicle and energy sources in the Chereau SmarTrailer range that best suit their needs.”
