Compliance and training specialist Milebay Auditing has issued a reminder of the impending 9 September deadline by which more than 44,000 lorry drivers will need to have their 35 hours’ periodic Driver CPC training up to date.

“Life is busy and we all lose track of anniversaries, expiry dates and renewal deadlines,” said the company.

“Over the coming months operators will be feeling the pressure, aware that for many of their drivers, the deadline to complete 35 hours of periodic training over a five-year period is looming.

“Whether you’re self-employed or work as an employed driver for an operator, staying up to date with your CPC training is vital to retain your driver qualification card and professional driver status.”

The company advised drivers to ensure they check their completed training hours via the gov.uk website.

Milebay Auditing, based in Peterborough, provides transport auditing, compliance and training products and services across the UK.

“The friendly team are fleet transport experts and can help with your CPC training,” said Milebay.

“Our training courses are designed to meet your needs, and we aim to make new learning and refresher training interesting, useful and memorable. Our trainers are ex-drivers, transport managers and industry professionals who have solid experience in commercial driving and the law.

“Training courses are regularly reviewed to ensure they’re up to date and add value for our customers.

“If you have a fleet, we can work with your team to plan and provide a flexible training schedule that fits with your departments priorities and shifts. Welcome to organised driver training sessions that don’t impact the business.”
