Tarpaulin welding solutions from Welwyn

The new Leister Variant 700 series from Welwyn Tool Group offers tailored solutions for various welding requirements, including truck tarpaulins.

“The range of models are designed to meet diverse welding needs including overlap, tape, and dual-nozzle spriegel welding,” said Welwyn Tool Group.

“Each model is engineered to deliver optimal performance for specific applications, allowing users to select the right machine for their requirements: the Variant 700 for overlap welds, the Variant 702 for reinforcement tape, the Variant 704 for anti-vandalism tape, the Variant 706 for spriegel overlap and the Variant 708 for spriegel anti-vandalism.

“Equipped with intuitive and user-friendly interfaces, the Variant 700 series enable smart, one-touch operation, enhancing both ease of use and safety while ensuring precision. These interfaces streamline the user experience, enabling quick training and seamless operation. Additionally, users can conveniently set and manage welding parameters through the digital ‘e-Drive’ system.”

The company highlights a range of features of the Variant 700 series tape welding machines that are designed to boost user productivity.

“One key feature is the automatic In/Out nozzle which simplifies the welding process, enhancing safety and efficiency while minimising downtime,” said Welwyn.

“Furthermore, the innovative Lift-and-Weld technology which reduces manual effort and improves efficiency and safety through enhancing operator comfort and minimising fatigue. The design also supports safe standing operation, further enhancing workplace safety and productivity.

“Boasting impressive welding speeds of up to 20 metres per minute (65 feet per minute) the Variant 700 series machines are perfectly suited for high-volume production, ensuring quick and efficient completion of welding tasks. Their adaptable modular design allows for easy conversion from overlap to tape welding, providing users with enhanced flexibility.

“The Eco Mode feature of the Variant 700 series contributes to substantial cost savings by optimising energy consumption, which in turn reduces environmental impact, lowers noise levels, decreases operational costs and increases the lifespan of the machine.

“The versatility of the Variant 700 series supports a wide variety of material compatibility and welding widths ranging from 20mm to 50mm, making it suitable for diverse welding applications, including truck tarpaulins, tent welding and banners.”

Developed by Leister, the Variant 700 series is supplied to the UK by Welwyn Tool Group.

“Welwyn supply the full range of Leister plastic welding and industrial process heat equipment and offers highly competent technical support by their team of dedicated engineers,” said the firm.
