Navigating fuel procurement challenges with bp
bp has explained how its fuel card offering and related services for HGV fleets can help managers in tackling the daily challenges of fuel procurement.
“From optimising operational costs and keeping up with fluctuating market dynamics to addressing supply chain pressures, fleet managers are constantly having to navigate and adapt to an everchanging landscape,” said bp.
“To assist fleet managers, bp offers a range of solutions tailored to these challenges, which includes fuel cards that simplify day-to-day management.
“These cards provide a variety of benefits, such as advanced management tools, exclusive driver perks, and cost-effective fuel options, all while giving fleet operators complete control over expenses.
“bp’s fuel card network includes over 3,400 fuel stations nationwide through bp and bp partners, with more than 500 strategically placed bunker sites along major motorways and key ‘A’ roads, ensuring drivers can easily access refuelling points wherever they may be headed.”
For fleets looking to incorporate electric trucks into their operations – or those already doing so – bp Pulse has introduced Europe’s first charging corridor for medium and heavy-duty electric vehicles, the company adds.
“In 2023, six public charging stations with ultra-fast 300kW charge points were unveiled along Germany’s 600km (370-mile) Rhine-Alpine corridor. This is great news for HGV operators across Europe, as it opens up new possibilities for sustainable logistics.”
Additionally, bp’s fuel card simplifies billing for fleets that manage both fuel and electric vehicles, the firm says.
“The card is accepted across the extensive Routex network, which covers more than 29,000 locations in 32 European countries. With a single card for both fuel and charging, drivers have fewer cards to manage, and fleet managers can combine their expenses into one bill, making financial management much easier.”
bp also highlighted its alternative fuel solutions.
“At select sites in the UK, bp bioenergy HVO is now available, offering fleet managers a renewable fuel source. Produced from renewable, waste-derived feedstocks, bp HVO meets the BS EN 15940 paraffinic diesel specification, and offers an alternative to traditional fuels while maintaining a high performance.
“In addition to HVO, bp has partnered with Gasrec to expand its supply of LNG and CNG in the UK. LNG is best suited for long-haul trucks, while CNG is ideal for medium-sized trucks on shorter routes. These fuels can provide fleet managers with flexible solutions to meet their various needs.”
