Stertil-Koni puts Washbay Skylift in the spotlight
Stertil-Koni has highlighted the crucial role vehicle lifts can play in commercial vehicle washing, ensuring that fleets remain clean, safe, and road-ready.
Keeping trucks, light commercial vehicles and buses free from dirt, salt and grime is a year-round challenge, says Stertil-Koni, particularly during winter when road conditions lead to heavier contamination.
“Choosing the right lift is essential – not only must it withstand the demanding conditions of frequent washing, but it must also address common challenges such as safety, accessibility, and space constraints in washbay environments,” said the company.
“Stertil-Koni’s Washbay Skylift is specifically designed to enhance vehicle washing efficiency while maintaining operator safety. Engineered for durability in wet and corrosive environments, it features galvanised platforms and run-ups, along with lift legs and feet coated in a heavy-duty maritime offshore anti-corrosion finish.
“A stainless-steel control box, combined with waterproof fixtures and fittings, ensures reliable performance in washbay conditions, making the Skylift a robust and long-lasting solution.”
The compact design of the Skylift, with its scissor mechanism and smooth vertical lifting, makes it ideal for tight washbay spaces, the firm adds.
“The absence of crossbeams, overhangs, or base frames provides technicians with unrestricted access around and underneath vehicles, improving both efficiency and safety during the cleaning process.
“With platform lengths of up to 14.5 metres – or up to 30 metres in a tandem configuration – the Skylift accommodates everything from single-decker buses to articulated bendy-buses. Even at its longest configuration, only two lifting legs per platform are required, each with an individual measuring device to ensure precise, level synchronisation to within 15mm.
“Available in 20, 25, and 35-tonne lifting capacities, the Washbay Skylift reaches a height of 1.75 metres in just 89 seconds, allowing operators to clean vehicles thoroughly and comfortably. Operation is intuitive via Stertil-Koni’s ebright Smart Control System, which features a full-colour touchscreen for precise and safe lifting control.”
Safety remains paramount, the company emphasises; the Skylift is equipped with an independent mechanical locking system and a built-in overload protection mechanism to ensure secure elevation.
“For additional safety, an optional reverse roll-off protection system prevents vehicles from unintentionally rolling off the platform while extending its effective length by 480mm,” it added.
“For workshops and fleet operators looking to optimise their vehicle washing processes while ensuring long-term lift durability, the Stertil-Koni Washbay Skylift is the ultimate solution.”
