Britannia launches smart wash solution
Britannia Wash Systems has announced the launch of a new smart wash system which will allow operators and users to monitor the usage and performance of the wash remotely from anywhere in the world – allowing them to know what has been washed, when and how.
“At Britannia, our smart wash systems are fully customisable, making them easily scalable to meet the needs of modern commercial and transport fleets,” said the company.
”Speed equals efficiency, and efficiency equals lower costs. Our innovation is focused on building efficiency in several ways. First on the list is the physical speed of cleaning.
“These days, systems are fast. Our SL45 Smart Wash can process up to 50 double-deckers per hour.
“Innovation is also increasing the number of automated reporting functions, such as water recycling, power usage, quantity of vehicles washed p/day, VRS, and safeguards. Automation opens the door to a host of efficiency-enhancing options.
“Meanwhile, AI-powered monitoring systems assist with proactive maintenance, identifying minor issues before they become major problems, and saving customers the expense and frustration of unscheduled downtime.”
Unfortunately, a shortage of skilled engineers means many commercial washing companies have a long history of weeks-long call-out delays and even longer waits for replacement parts, says Britannia.
“Everyone knows that built-up dust and grime can lead to expensive mechanical failure, so rapid response should be an absolute must when choosing a commercial vehicle wash systems company.
“At Britannia, we aim to prevent these potential failures by closely monitoring the performance of the machine and using the AI features to communicate when potential failures are likely to occur, allowing our service division to eradicate them before failure happens.”
As the UK moves towards its net-zero targets, sustainability is a major issue, the firm adds, with clients and stakeholders expecting attention to detail in every link in the chain.
“Consequently, it’s not ok to promote a green transport solution if your cleaning programme is wasting water, especially as there are so many innovative water recycling solutions available,” it said.
“Commercial vehicle washing should use minimal water for the task, incorporate energy-efficient machinery, and embrace water-saving practices as part of its core philosophy.
“To ensure this requirement is safeguarded, the Britannia Smart Wash monitors all aspects of the water usage, ensuring that any parameters that are not achieving their designed function are reported automatically to our service division, ensuring that a quick and efficient solution is in place within 24-48 hours.”
