Mann-Filter helps tackle SCR system issues
Mann-Filter, the aftermarket premium brand of global filtration provider Mann+Hummel, has highlighted the potential consequences of overlooking the maintenance and protection of AdBlue Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems.
“This can cause serious issues with the system itself, often costly or causing vehicle downtime,” advised the company.
“The easiest way to prevent issues with the SCR system is to ensure the filter that protects the dosing pump is regularly changed in accordance with the vehicle’s service schedule. Not changing the filter can cause a system failure, or using a sub-standard filter can allow contaminant into the pump nozzles which can then also block.”
Timely replacement of the filter is therefore critical, says Mann-Filter, adding that using a quality filter will also ensure correct function for the entire service interval with the desired level of filtration efficiency.
